My focus in the lab is the study of genes that regulate heart rhythm.  I am developing a technique for instantaneous knockout of cardiac ion channels based on fluorescein-assisted light activation (FALI), which I will use to  characterize the electrical activity of individual myocytes before and after elimination of ion channels.
