Affymetrix miRNA Arrays
The Genomics Core has recently begun to support Affymetrix miRNA arrays. These arrays include 7,815 probe sets including controls covering 71 organisms including human, mouse, rat, canine, and rhesus macaque from Sanger miRNA build v11. This includes 4 probes/set for 6,703 miRNAs probe sets, 500 snoRNA probe sets with <11 probes/probe set and 22 scaRNA probe sets.
We are still testing the limits of sensitivity for these arrays though the manufacturer is claiming sensitivity to 100 ng total RNA for input. These arrays are biotin labeled using a kit from Genisphere and thus are always a one color design. Also see:
