Research AssociateGladstone Institute of Neurological Disease in the lab of Dr. Katerina Akassoglou is seeking a research associate to assist in research studies on the pathogenesis of neurologic diseases.  Primary procedures will include work with transgenic mouse models, basic molecular biology, cell culture, and biochemistry.  This position requires a B.S./B.A. in biological sciences and 2-3 years of laboratory experience. BioStatistician
The J. David Gladstone Institutes are looking for a highly qualified BioStatistician to assist researchers in the design and analysis of a wide range of study areas. Expected areas of interest will be genomics, including expression and genotyping studies, deep resequencing analysis, mouse behavioral modeling studies, flow cytometry and population genetics. This position requires a strong background in quantitative analysis of biological systems and the ability to work with a varied user base. Research Technician/Sort Operator
Research Technician/Sort operator position available in the Flow Cytometry core. Provide cell-sorting services to researchers, performed under BSL3 conditions. Provide training for bench top (multi-user) instruments. Handle routine maintenance of instruments, including troubleshooting and repair of electronics, fluids, lasers, and computer components. The person in this position will serve as a resource in a number of technical and scientific areas including experimental design, sample preparation and protocol development for a diverse array of users from multiple disciplines. The individual would be required to perform routine instrument/lab maintenance duties. The position requires an in-dept knowledge of flow cytometry including cell sorting, data analysis, data presentation, flurochromes and optics. Ability to support multiple instruments is required. Knowledge of computer hardware including server maintenance and software is desired. B.S. in a biological science, or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience with a strong emphasis in FACS techniques. Prior operation of FACSCalibur and/or LSRII instruments required. Cell sorting experience using a BD DIVA/Vantage instrument is highly desirable. Job #V08-03W.

Senior Research AssociateThe Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease is seeking a senior research associate for the "Consortium for Frontotemporal Dementia Research Group" who is an experienced scientist (at least 7 years required in biology, preferably neurobiology; Ph.D preferred) to serve as a lab manager/coordinator for approximately ten laboratories doing research on neurodegeneration.  Responsibilities will include curating and organizing consortium reagents, including vectors, antibodies, mice and other tools, coordinating information transfer among groups,   maintaining cell lines and other biological reagents, and other activities that facilitate research, such as primary neuron culture, virus preparation, etc.  Additional requirements include outstanding organizational and communication skills along with extensive knowledge of databases and website software.  Desired candidates must have strong initiative and innovation, and must easily adapt to challenges with no hesitation to take on diverse responsibilities as required to reach the objective of the Consortium.
