The person in this position will provide administrative and human resources support.The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:maintain data integrity and update HRIS database (Banner, Track-It), assist with bi-monthly payroll administration. Facilities Manager
The person in this position will be responsible for project management for facilities and maintenance projects, lab aide, custodial service coordination and night watch supervision. Projects may include building renovations, equipment relocations, equipment storage inventory system and emergency response program. Prepare cost estimates, timelines/schedules with completion estimates, and purchase requisition for assigned projects. Negotiate contracts with outside vendors. Implement an equipment maintenance and service contract on-line tracking system. Supervise Facilities Assistant and ensure coordination of services with lab aides institute-wide. Function as Facilities Safety liaison and work with Gladstone Safety committee to develop an Emergency Action Plan.Must have at least 5 years in facilities project management in a research laboratory environment. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must have 5 or more years supervisory or lead experience. Working knowledge of physical plant systems, machinery, construction process, carpentry, plumbing and electrical. Must be able to organize own time plus time of his/her staff. Must be able to prioritize among several projects and work under pressure. Must be able to meet deadlines and interact effectively at all levels of the organization. A08-07W.
Senior Facilities Engineer
Primary: Responsibilities encompass the skills and experience necessary to operate a biomedical/research buildings mechanical, electrical, plumbing and associated support equipment. Candidate must be a highly skilled individual with proven experience with HVAC, pneumatic, lab gas and steam boiler operations. Training and experience with DDC/building controls is desired in addition to proficiency with positive/negative room pressurization as well as phoenix valve diagnostics and repair. Candidate will troubleshoot and repair all facilities related equipment and perform preventative maintenance inspections as required. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.Required: Must have a minimum of High School Diploma. Must have appropriate EPA certification for HVAC refrigeration work. Five years experience with a strong background in comprehensive diagnostics and repairs of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems with an emphasis in programmable logic and digital and analog controls. Must have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, commitment, integrity and work ethic. Preferred: AA degree in engineering/electronics field or trade/apprentice school certification. Administrative Assistant
The person in this position will provide administrative support for the director's office at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease. Duties include preparation of grant applications and manuscripts, making travel arrangements, calendaring, filing, distribution of mail, updating lab web sites, coordinating seminars and special events, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Mac OS X, ability to learn new software applications as needed, and a strong interest in supporting science.
