Please carefully read the following terms and conditions. Your submission of this online Intake Form implies that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions. They were developed to minimize the waiting period for the Behavioral Laboratory use and to ensure that all users of the Behavioral Laboratory have equal access.
1. Mice must be moved into a given room and rack one week before the start of an experiment and removed one week following the end of the experiment. If mice are from outside of the Gladstone Facility, Transfer Forms will need to be completed beforehand to ensure that the transfer is made on time.
- a) It is important that mice habituate to their new rooms one week before the start of an experiment. Failure to transfer mice on time will result in the cancellation of your experiment.
- b) Mice must be transferred back to their original holding rooms/facility or sacrificed within one week following the completion of experiments.
2. If you would like to conduct experiments yourself, you must be properly trained in the specific test. The Behavioral Laboratory provides up to 10 hours of free training per lab.
- a) In the event that a fellow lab member has been trained in a specific task or program, it is still necessary for you to receive training from a Behavioral Laboratory member.
- b) Except for Behavioral Laboratory equipment, you must provide your own supplies (e.g., videotapes, alcohol wipes).
- c) All equipment must be kept in good condition and returned in a clean and working manner.
- Any damage to equipment or extra cleaning that the Behavioral Laboratory has to do to restore its original condition will be charged to your account.
- If you are unsure about how to clean a specific piece of equipment, the Behavioral Laboratory staff will show you the necessary supplies and techniques.
If you have any questions or concerns, or have issues that prevent you from following these guidelines, you must specify them on your Intake Form. If you fail to comply with the guidelines, you will lose the privilege to access the Behavioral Laboratory. The Behavioral Laboratory reserves the right to change schedules based on special circumstances that may arise occasionally. You will be notified immediately if such changes become necessary.
