The training and education of the next generation of biomedical scientists and health-care providers are major components of Gladstone's overall mission.
Postdoctoral Fellows Program
The vibrant academic environment at the Gladstone Institutes and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) offers ideal opportunities for training in diverse areas of biomedical research. Gladstone's postdoctoral fellows program combines rigorous scientific training with a strong emphasis on mentoring and career development.
Graduate Education
Graduate education is a high priority at Gladstone. All our principal investigators have faculty appointments in one or more departments at UCSF. Many are also members of UCSF graduate programs, such as the Program in Biological Sciences (PIBS), the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) Program, the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics (PSPG) Program, and the Medical Scientist Training Program(MSTP).
Clinical Training
Many of our principal investigators are physician-scientists and devote part of their time to the training of medical students and resident physicians at San Francisco General Hospital or other UCSF teaching hospitals. Lipid Disorders Training Gladstone’s Lipid Disorders Training Center conducts training for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and dieticians in the management of plasma lipid disorders. In addition, Gladstone provides training to medical students and others in lipid disorders and patient management.
Seminars
The Gladstone-UCSF community offers a large number of stimulating lectures, seminars and journal clubs, featuring local experts as well as outstanding scientists from around the world. |
